Festival Essentials: Levi's for a Weekend in Indio

Six years after Pearl Jam performed before 25,000 fans at the Empire Polo Club in California, thus legitimizing the site for large scale concerts, Coachella launched its annual music and arts festival. With its 16th show approaching, Coachella has grown into one of the largest music festivals in the United States, encompassing a wide spectrum of musical genres from rock, indie, hip hop, and electronic dance music, as well as a visual arts component that includes installations and sculptures. Over the years the festival has hosted such diverse acts as Amy Winehouse, Prince, Paul McCartney, Daft Punk, Kanye West, The Black Keys, Nine Inch Nails and even the late Tupac Shakur, via hologram at the 2012 event. Now Coachella is gearing up for one of its biggest lineups ever with the first of two weekends approaching in just a couple of days. Whether you are a first time attendee or a seasoned pro, remembering to pack a few key items will ensure you survive and thrive throughout the weekend. Here we have a no-fail list of Essentials to keep you prepared for anything, from Drake to ACDC.

An easy-to-wear outfit, including a pair of broken-in Levi’s 501 CT jeans, a Trucker Jacket and some comfortable kicks will take you from the warm days right through to the breezy nights. A roomy backpack is perfect for all your belongings including sunglasses, a headlamp and a blanket. A Huf camp cap will protect you from the sun during the day and transition to a casual nighttime look. Lastly, a Lomography 35mm camera will allow you to capture all your memorable moments with a vintage look.
